It is also impossible not to notice the high colourful walls reaching 120 metres, made of white and red crinoid limestone and the fanciful shape of the crags themselves. In the gorge we can also observe a very rich lichen flora. Many animals also find their shelter here. Including eagle owl, kestrel falcon or spotted lizard. Homole Gorge contains numerous peculiarities of both living and inanimate nature. It is no wonder that this area has been placed under protection.
In the past, the Homole Gorge was also a place where people searched for precious metals and hidden treasures. Legends about the treasures hidden between the rocks are still alive today.
A comfortable path (green tourist trail) leads along the bottom of the Homole Gorge to Jaworki. On both sides of the rocky path there are picturesque rocks. In the creek bed there are many boulders. Behind the debris made of limestone boulders the valley widens and a beautiful panorama of the highest peak of the Pieniny Mountains - Wysoka - appears before your eyes. From here you can return to Jaworki (about 30 minutes) or continue the trip by climbing to the very top of Wysoka (about 1 hour and 30 minutes).
The HOMOLE Gorge is part of a reserve called the Canyon. It also includes Čajakova Skała and a side part of the Konióvský Potok valley.
