A beautifully situated climatic spa at the eastern end of the Belianske Tatras (Mare's Peak - 1108 m).
Belianska Cave
National nature monument located in the Belianske Tatras in Slovakia, on the northern slope of the Kobylí vrch (Mare's Peak), in the administrative boundaries of the city of Vysoké Tatry.
It is situated on the southern slope of Kobylí vrch (Kobylí Hill) above the Tatra Basin. The entrance to the cave is at an altitude of 890 m.
From the car park we walk along a didactic path, marked with a yellow trail, for about 20 minutes. Length of ascent 1200 m. Height difference 125 m. Duration of the visit to the cave 1 hour and 15 minutes.
Belianska Cave has a very rich flowstone decoration and a variety of interior formations. It is the longest in the Belianske Tatras - 1750 m, although not deep. The depth is 160 m. The accessible parts are 1020 m long and lie at an altitude of 1001 m to 879 m (122 span). The annual temperature is around 5°C.
In the upper part from the Hall of Discovery to the Hall of the Slovak National Uprising, many interesting stalactite formations can be observed: stalagmites, flowstone waterfalls, underground lakes. The names of the individual objects reflect well their character and prove the poetic imagination of the explorers: House of Great Waterfalls, Robber Chamber, Cactus Grove, Demolished House, Robber Lake, Golden Lake, Palm Hall.
